Autumn in ibiza, or the perfect season

I love Autumn! a new season, a new life! It is as if nature revives, the leaves fall from the trees reborn all ochre and orange.

I walk the hiking trails in the hope of crossing paths with a hedgehog or a sheep. I fly high, very high, and I let myself flow with the breeze coming from the sea. I climb to the moon and watch the sunsets that are still unique every day.

I spend hours watching the migratory birds fleeing the cold and seeking refuge in tropical countries, and I hide in the woods, watching the birds frolic in the trees. I LOVE autumn in Ibiza!

At home, in Vinya den Palerm, we are more relaxed. Our clients and friends go back to their lives, work and routines. The holidays are over! From October onwards, the agrotourism and the island relax quite completely. Ibiza is much quieter than in the summer season. And… I love it!

I rediscover the island, with more peace and quiet. I explore every creek without them being crowded. It is a perfect moment to enjoy the island in a way totally different from the summer, crowded with tourists.

On rainy days, my favourite plan is to climb up to the clouds and watch the flood falling into the cliffs. The rain brings out the smell of pine coming from the nearby woods. And on sunny days, I stay at home and I sit down to talk to my sheep. And on the days when I wake up full of energy I go hiking around the island. II know all the pathways!

In autumn you eat differently and you live differently, and it is time to devote to the family. You usually go out less, so I take the opportunity to spend more time with my family, enjoying a good home cooked meal and the best company.

Autumn, for me, also means typical meals and traditions, and the scent of fireplace, home stews and desserts. I make jam and soups with the thousands of local vegetables available. The truth is that that have your own crops and orchard has many good sides! I am happy every taking care of the livestock, and dedicating myself to the crops.

What more can I say? I’m sure you understand, don’t you? For me, autumn in Ibiza, is the best season. Warm, rainy… perfect!

Once the summer season is over I go flying everywhere, without fearing that some tourist will see me. Ah, how I love autumn!
