The beautiful flowers of Ibiza

The beauty of Ibiza in the Spring never ceases to amaze me! Fields full of flowers colour the island with yellows, reds, violets, greens, pinks, oranges and so many other colours. Only those who really know how to look around attentively can discover the thousands of small treasures that nature gives us at every step in this beautiful island. Do you know which are the most common flowers in Ibiza? Rosemary flowers, tiny and blue ; the beautiful and delicate pink flower of the rock rose; lavender with its colourful purple flowers; wild fennel and its small yellow blooms. And

The first guests of the season

Vinya den Palerm, Ibiza, March 31st 2015 I don’t know what it is with Spring that every corner of the island becomes so magical and special! With her come the first tourists of the season, the ones who come to enjoy the nature, the history and the gastronomy that Ibiza offers. And the beaches, of course! And, obviously, we, at Vinya den Palerm , are ready to welcome our first guests. I am eager to meet them and show them the small treasures of our home and of our island. Getting lost in Las Salinas of Ibiza

March 12th , 2015, Vinya d’en Palerm rural hotel Today we will go on an outing to one of the most spectacular areas of Ibiza: Ses Salines or Las Salinas. Getting lost in Las Salinas is like taking a walk through paradise: to admire the elegance of the flamingos, discover the sky, sun and clouds reflected in the lakes, and be captivated by the blues and turquoise of its beach. A unique festival of beauty and nature that well deserves having been designated protected Nature Reserve on 2001, a must-visit for all who come to spend a few days in Ibiza.

Under an apple tree, Ibiza, February 25th , 2015 Sitting on a small stone against the trunk of an apple tree I calmly contemplate all the beauty surrounding the rural hotel. The sunbeams light up and nurture the surrounding land and the first asparagus are beginning to appear. Here, in Ibiza, after the flowering almond trees, spring starts to be felt, smelt and appreciated; the colder months have past and on some days we can even leave our coats at home. For the Vinya den Palerm team all this means one thing: We start preparing for a new season in

The Torres d’en Lluc as we tour the island

Countryside of San Miguel, Ibiza, February 11th , 2015 We have been visiting what, a long, long time ago, seems to have been a fortress, the Torres d’en Lluc (the towers of Lluc), whose purpose is unclear as of today, having lost its use throughout history it is nowadays considered to be one of the mysteries of this island. They are two ancient, oval plan, towers connected by a section of wall near Cala d’Abarca and close to the cliffs that link San Mateo to Santa Inés where an archaeological settlement is found. Historians date it back to the period

Santa Inés under the moonlight

January 28th , 2015, Vinya d’en Palerm rural hotel Dear Diary, January and February are back again to make me fall even more in love with the island of Ibiza. This is, for many, the most awaited season, due to the magical landscapes of green and red highlighted by the white of the almond-trees in bloom. The most beautiful place to enjoy the almond trees is Santa Inés, and, without doubt, the best day to make an unforgettable trip to its valley full of thousands and thousands of almond-trees blooming with white petals, is the night of the full moon.
